Cherin Choi Owner
Choi grew up in Southern California, where she graduated from the acclaimed Toni & Guy Hairdressing Academy. After school, Cherin continued her training as a colorist at the famous Neil George Salon in Beverly Hills; it was here that she refined coloring techniques that have allowed her to highlight healthy, fine hair with minimal damage, and to transform dark and coarse to blonde and beautiful. In addition to natural hair coloring, Cherin is highly skilled in integrating creative color palettes into her highlighting techniques. She also has expertise in hair extensions, specifically with sew-in wefts and tape-ins. After five successful years in Beverly Hills, three at Ramirez Tran, most recently Salon Benjamin, working in New York City, San Francisco, and Mexico City, Cherin is now creating all-new outpost in the Arts District of Downtown Los Angeles.

Owner Sal Salcedo

Sal moved to the US from Mexico at 13. He touched his first pair of shears shortly thereafter and hasn't stopped since. He graduated from Toni & Guy Hairdressing Academy and began working at the esteemed at Sally Hershberger Salon then at Ramirez|Tran Salon in Beverly Hills. Sal continues pushing himself into being a better artist. He has had the pleasure to work with many celebrities & artists as well as children, teenagers, moms & grandmas. His focus is to create quality work and let it speak for itself. After four successful years in Beverly Hills at Ramirez Tran, Salon Benjamin and working in New York City, San Francisco, and Mexico City, Sal is now creating an all-new outpost in the Arts District of Downtown Los Angeles.

Cut Artist Chaie De Jesus

Chaie is well-known and loved by her clients for her meticulous attention to detail and deep commitment to ensuring that every client leavers her chair feelings sexy, confident and thrilled with her work. Combining her expertise in the art of precision cutting, a passion for hair and a strong sense of style, Chaie has created her signature look - a flattering, effortless style that is edgy, high fashion and uniquely suited to each client’s individual beauty and flair. In addition, Chaie has always believed in passing on her knowledge and love for her craft to everyone around her, and loves teaching clients how to make the most of their cuts once they leave the salon. Having gotten her starting training under Shannon Rha, owner of Shannon Hair in Valencia, CA, Chaie continued her training at Sally Hershberger LA, where she completed an intensive program assisting Sally Hershberger and, later, at Meche Salon in Beverly Hills.

Tim Morrison Cut Artist
Tim started his styling career in Beverly Hills and NYC before joining the Nova Arts Salon team. His clientele seek him out for loose, playful styling and haircuts that effortlessly compliment their face shape and hair texture. Tim sees hair as an art form that should always feel natural and fun. His dry cutting technique allows him to shape the cut with maximum control and an even grow out.

Cut Artist Peter Felix

Peter Felix grew up in South Los Angeles & San Gabriel Valley where he started cutting hair in his parents home at the age of 15. After completing Cerritos Community College, he started his career with Toni & Guy where he discovered his passion for teaching and developing others. Working behind the chair in Northeast LA, Peter is known for cutting and styling with natural hair texture to compliment the person's face and personality.

Allison Varmette Color Artist
Allison was born in the Lake Tahoe, California area and spent much of her young life in L.A., San Diego, and Hawaii before she moved to the Washington D.C area. She realized her passion for hair at an early age and has felt driven to pursue a career in the industry after graduating from the acclaimed and demanding Gramm Web Academy, in Northern Virginia, before moving to California to pursue her future. She has had years of experience in California adding hair extensions and styling while Freelancing in the Southern California area. Working with some of the best in the industry she learned the top trends and styles. Before completing an apprenticeship with Cherin Choi in L.A., New York, and San Francisco, she has mastered the art and science of creating stunningly beautiful hair. Allison can create colors everyday life yet, she loves to create colors for your rockstar moments. You will appreciate her expertise and warm smile as you enjoy your experience, with her, here at Nova Arts Salon.

Olivia Virden is an expert color and extension specialist. After years of training under one of the country’s most sought out colorist, George Papanikolas, at the Andy Lecompte salon, she branched out on her own to the Chris McMillan Salon. After eight years in Beverly Hills, Olivia perfected the natural, seamless, sun-kissed highlight. She has since transformed and mastered her hair coloring techniques hand tailored to each client. Her artistic eye for color and tone has led her to work with some of Hollywood’s most elite. From there she has built a nationwide clientele including California, New York, Colorado, Georgia, etc. A true southern girl, Olivia says “the most rewarding part of my job, is helping people feel as beautiful as they deserve to feel”

Hiro Ochi Cut Artist
Hiro is a hair stylist, specializing in dry cutting and modern styling. He was born and raised in Tokyo, Japan. He developed his hair cutting skills from modern street culture in Tokyo. He mastered hair fundamentals from the Japanese hair industry. He was a hairstylist/salon manager and developed a modern style for his clients. In 2015, Hiro decided to leave Japan and move his passion overseas to Los Angeles. He started his LA career in Beverly Hills. He is now bringing a modern, fresh style to the downtown LA Arts District. Hiro carefully brings the balance of hair, lifestyle, fashion, movement, and texture for each and every client. Hiro brings precise skills from Japan with passion.

Color Artist Madison Alexis

Madison is an east coast native with 8 years of experience in the hair industry. She relocated to Los Angeles in 2018, initially beginning her journey in Beverly Hills before joining the Nova Arts family. She believes hair should evolve with you and look good in every state of its evolution. She excels in balayage, blondes and ash-toned color and creates custom lived in color for each client that sits in her chair. When she’s not behind the chair, you can find her browsing the local garden center, or sipping coffee with her nose in a fashion magazine.
